Setting out to put things right, Snufkin journeys through the valley to restore it and to rescue his kidnapped companion. True to the gentle spirit of the Moomins, his adventure unfolds without violence; instead, Snufkin relies on his music, using melodies to interact with the world and its inhabitants as he explores. Along the way he encounters the valley's whimsical characters and gradually undoes the changes imposed upon their home. It is a quiet, dreamlike tale of a solitary traveler working to reclaim a peaceful place and reunite with the friend he cannot leave behind.
